I typically talk about the big things that give me hope. My children, husband, family, and friends just to name a few. But we all know it’s the little things that count too. The little things that give me hope are the people who are advocating for Migraines and Headache Disorders. When I first started blogging, I thought, “What if someone else is writing a blog about their migraines?” I thought it would somehow be a competition. I was completely wrong. The thing that I immediately learned about this community is that we are all fighting for the same cause and want similar things. To be better. Therefore, the more voices the better! With 37 million people suffering (and I can only guess that as a low estimate) more voices need to be heard. These voices are fighting congress, fighting school districts, fighting doctors, all while fighting a personal battle. It is really inspiring to see how one voice can bring so many together to hopefully bring big change. The funding is wildly lacking for research and there are people trying to make a difference. There are doctors trying to really educate while so many need up to date information. These people are moms, daughters, friends, cousins, sisters, warriors, and so much more. I think it’s easy to jump on a bandwagon that has been on a roll, but to build that bandwagon, get on and drive is a hard thing. So my little piece of hope is each person fighting Migraines and Headache Disorders and fighting for change. Thank you to all of you. You bring hope with a disease that can feel hopeless. You fight for me when I’m unable to fight for myself and I hope to fight and bring hope for you also. Sometimes small things can bring big HOPE.
